LGBT Citizen Summit

The first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Citizen Summit, held Saturday, April 30, 2005, gathered and organized views and input from LGBT residents about the priorities of the District government.

The public event took place at the Greenleaf Recreation Center, where over 300 citizens from the LGBT community attended and participated in this groundbreaking summit.

In consultation with the Office of LGBT Affairs, the LGBT Advisory Committee set five discussion topics for the day.
  • Increasing Communication and Relationships
  • Community Youth Challenges
  • Business Development Challenges
  • Community Health Challenges
  • Public Safety Challenges
